Selling your home?

We inspect antique homes and horse properties

While every inspection is different, antique homes and horse properties present their own unique challenges.

Radon Testing

Radon is an odorless, tasteless and invisible gas found in soil and water. It is radioactive and a proven carcinogen.  Testing for radon (radon in air and/or radon in water) is a simple process and can easily be requested at the time of inspection.

Water Testing

If you are buying a house that has a well, it is highly recommended to test the water for potability as well as potentially harmful elements such as radon, lead, arsenic and uranium. From basic profile to volatile organic compounds, we can test it!

Lead in Paint

Many homes and condominiums built before 1978 have lead-based paint which can pose serious health hazards to occupants and visitors. We can identify and recommend appropriate action.

Underground Storage Tanks

Although home inspections do not include the search for underground storage tanks, evidence of such may be identified during the inspection and recommendations made for obtaining documentation or further evaluation by a specialist.

Although identification of mold by a home inspector is not included in the CT Home Inspection Standards of Practice, we are cognizant of the indicators of mold. Visible mold or conditions conducive to mold will be noted on your report with a suggestion to consult with a specialist for further evaluation.

*If identified during a complete home inspection, ask if we can recommend a specialist for further evaluation.

Ron Rivard

"Our complete inspections always include a wood destroying insect report at no additional charge!"

Ron Rivard. Eagle Home Inspections

Eagle sets the stage with the buyers at the beginning of an inspection. For example, if the house was built in 1962, the Eagle inspector will tell the buyers that they are not buying a new home. They are buying a home that was built in the 60's and therefore, they are not looking at a new house. They are looking at a house that is over 60 years old, so this is what they should expect.
